What is Parent Group?
Our Parent Group sessions address topics in early childhood development and education. Parent Group equips caregivers with a wealth of resources; Sessions are also a chance for parents to share their parenting experiences with each other and discuss their parenting challenges and successes.
JFTN Parent Group is held on Monday mornings. Jennifer Johnson and Julia Jacobson lead each session.
Jennifer Johnson, LCSW, RPT-S
JFTN Clinical Director
Julia Jacobson, LCSW, M.S.Ed.
JFTN Behavioral Support Supervisor and Clinical/Educational Coordinator
Each week, Jennifer and Julia introduce topics related to understanding your child’s behavior and implementing effective behavior strategies.
If you have close family members who help care for your child, it can be helpful for them to have a shared understanding of the approaches we introduce in Parent Group. That’s why we welcome extended family members who also act as caregivers, such as grandparents, to attend Parent Group as well.
Parent Group has been a vital part of the JFTN program since 1994. It’s a core aspect of our preschool’s family services, and we ask that all parents attend.
