The First Day of School at JFTN
Going to school for the first time is a big step for your child. To prepare your little one for this new experience, we included a booklet — Elmo Goes to League Education & Treatment Center — in your orientation binder. Reading this story together each day will introduce your child to the activities and people they'll see, which can help them through the first day of school.
- A backpack or school bag
- A communication notebook, which we'll use to share updates on your child's progress at school
- Two pairs of underpants
- Diapers and wipes
- One polo shirt
- One pair of pants
- Two pairs of socks
- One sweater (classrooms are well air-conditioned, so your child may prefer to wear a sweater)
Be sure to label each of the above items with your child's name. We'll keep everything in your child's classroom cubby.
Please send your child to school in sneakers each day. Active play is an important part of how preschool children learn. If you send your child to school in sandals, boots, or other kinds of footwear, please include a pair of sneakers in their backpack — labeled with their name — so teachers can prepare them for Dance/Movement and playground learning.
We look forward to a wonderful year of growth and learning with your child.
