We're grateful to everyone who participated in our first Spring Carnival last week. Our new rooftop playground is a huge hit with the kids — and we’re so happy to have it open just in time for spring.
During the event we made “Worms in Dirt”. The kids loved making them, parents have been asking for the recipe, and we're happy to share. This is a great activity for a long holiday weekend. We chose it because it develops fine motor skills, strength, attention, verbal skills, and it’s a good way to practice taking turns. Best of all, it can be modified for children of all levels and abilities. But the most important thing is to just have fun with your child, get dirty, and make a delicious dessert!
Follow the directions below to make your own worms this weekend. If you’re like us, you may find yourself making up songs and doing lots of taste tests along the way.
(1) 15-ounce package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
(1) 3.9-ounce package chocolate instant pudding
(2) cups cold milk
(8) ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
(24) gummy worms
